The sandbox mirrors the person and company endpoints under /sandbox/. It takes the same requests and returns the same response shapes, filled with sample records instead of real people and companies. Use it to build an integration, write tests, or try a workflow before you spend credits.

How It Works

  • No credits. Sandbox calls are free and never count toward your usage.
  • Sample records. Five people and five companies, all fictional (Jane Sandbox, Sandbox Corp and so on), with every field a real record carries, including work history, contact details and company workforce analytics.
  • Same request rules. Requests are validated the same way, min_confidence and required_fields filter matches the same way, and rate limits apply as usual.
  • Any API key. A key works in the sandbox whatever contracts its team has. A key limited to certain endpoints needs the /sandbox/... endpoints added on the API Keys page.

Endpoints

The utilities (clean, hash email, validate) have no sandbox. They are free, so call them directly. Sandbox discovery answers a fixed set of example queries. Person discovery takes “software engineers in san francisco”, “product managers at google” and “data scientists in new york”. Company discovery takes “fintech companies in new york”, “saas companies with more than 500 employees” and “healthcare startups”. Any other query returns a 400 that lists them.

In the SDKs, CLI and Apps

Each one has a sandbox switch that sends these endpoints to the sandbox and leaves everything else alone:
